Sutherland Law is currently seeking talented individuals to join our dynamic team as Associate Lawyers in our Vaughan office. The successful candidate will run files independently and work with experienced and respected senior counsel on larger matters. An existing client base is not required, but would be looked upon as an asset.  We offer attractive performance based remuneration opportunities and there will be yearly reviews. 

Responsibilities

• Handling all aspects of litigated matters, independently with the mentorship of senior counsel
• Supporting senior counsel on complex matters
• Meeting billable targets
• People/team leadership, mentorship and management

Qualifications

• Legally entitled to practice law in Canada
• At least 3 years of civil litigation experience
• Excellent English oral and written skills and communication ability
• Strong organization and teamwork skills and professional communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage a busy practice alongside Legal Assistants and Law Clerks
